The FCJ Excellence Awards is aimed at encouraging excellence and rewarding meritorious work in local and community print media in South Africa. This competition has been presented under the auspices of the FCJ for more than two decades now.
“It is the only competition in the country where journalists and publications can measure their work against their peers from all media outlets, big and small, corporately owned or independent,” says Hugo Redelinghuys, Executive Director of the Forum of Community Journalists (FCJ).
The FCJ Excellence Awards is open to any permanent editorial staff member working for a local or community print newspaper in South Africa.
The competition covers the period 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2018 and the closing date for entries is 30 April 2019.
“We encourage all editorial staff members working for a local or community print newspaper – whether you are a member of the FCJ or not – to enter the FCJ Excellence Awards,” says Redelinghuys.
The call for entries and entry forms are attached and available on the FCJ website, https://www.fcjonline.co.za/
